Chakki Sanchalan Kriya: Awaken the Flow of Energy

Chakki Sanchalan Kriya — or the Churning the Mill Kriya — is a dynamic, grounding practice designed to open energy blocks and prepare the lower chakras (Muladhara, Svadhistana, Manipura) for greater vitality, flexibility, and flow.

By combining rhythmic breathwork, spinal movements, and focused mantra chanting, this kriya enhances blood circulation, nervous system flexibility, and energetic activation of the body's foundational centers.

  • ✨ Breaks down energy blocks, enhancing emotional and physical stability

🛤️ Step-by-Step Chakki Sanchalan Kriya Practice

🔹 Part 1: Pulling the Rope (Rajju Karshanasana)

Setup:

  • Sit in Vajrasana (knees folded under you, sitting on heels).

Technique:

  1. Inhale deeply, lift the right arm straight upward as if pulling an invisible rope.
  2. Exhale, chant LAM (the seed sound of Muladhara) while pulling the arm down.
  3. Repeat with alternating arms in a flowing motion.

Timing:

  • Continue for 7 minutes.
  • Afterward, perform Bhastrika Pranayama (bellows breath) for 3 minutes.

Focus on rooting your energy downward while lifting upward with strength and steadiness.

🔹 Part 2: Spinal Twist (Meru Vakrasana)

Setup:

  • Sit with legs stretched wide apart.
  • Keep the feet flexed (toes pointing upward).

Technique:

  1. Twist to the right, bringing the right hand toward the left foot.
  2. Return to center.
  3. Twist to the left, bringing the left hand toward the right foot.
  4. Chant RAM (seed sound for Manipura chakra) with each exhale and twist.

Timing:

  • Continue for 7 minutes alternating sides.
  • Then perform Bhastrika Pranayama for 3 minutes.

This movement massages the spine and digestive organs, awakening the solar plexus energy.

🔹 Part 3: Rowing the Boat (Nauka Sanchalanasana)

Setup:

  • Sit with legs together and stretched out in front of you.
  • Keep the feet grounded.

Technique:

  1. Inhale, stretch arms up.
  2. Exhale, row forward — as if pulling through water.
  3. Perform rowing movements from the hips and spine.

Chanting Sequence:

  • 5 minutes rowing forward: Chant LAM, VAM, RAM (Muladhara ➔ Svadhistana ➔ Manipura).
  • 5 minutes rowing backward: Chant RAM, VAM, LAM.

The rhythm of rowing awakens, balances, and strengthens your lower energy centers.

🔹 Part 4: Churning the Mill (Chakki Sanchalanasana)

Setup:

  • Sit with legs stretched wide apart.
  • Interlock the fingers, stretch the arms far forward without bending the elbows.

Technique:

  1. Begin circular churning motions with the arms — large, steady circles.
  2. Move first clockwise, then counterclockwise.

Chanting and Breathing:

  • Chant VAM (seed sound for Svadhistana) during the motion.
  • Practice 3 minutes clockwise, 3 minutes counterclockwise.
  • Finish with Bhastrika Pranayama for 3 minutes.

This movement stirs and breaks stagnation in the pelvic region and purifies the reproductive energy pathways.

🧘‍♂️ Final Relaxation

After completing all practices:

  • Lie down in Savasana (corpse pose).
  • Rest for 10 minutes, allowing the energy to settle and integrate throughout the body.
